Slug & Lettuce - Oxford

If you ever find yourself near the historic Oxford Castle and fancy a vibrant mix of cocktails, conversation, and comfort food, Slug & Lettuce - Oxford might just be your next go-to. Nestled right at 1 Oxford Castle, this venue offers far more than just a prime location-it’s a spirited blend of style, sass, and standout sips.

From the moment you step through the wheelchair-accessible entrance, you’re greeted with a chic, contemporary vibe that somehow still manages to feel warm and welcoming. Whether you're catching up with friends over drinks or looking for a stylish spot to kick off your weekend, the atmosphere balances laid-back lounging with lively energy.

Now, let’s talk about what’s shaking-literally. The cocktail list is a showstopper in its own right. Think bold, fruity, creamy, fizzy... you name it. There’s something for every mood. If you’re a classic cocktail fan, the Mojito is refreshingly zesty. Those with a sweet tooth might lean toward a Pornstar Martini or a Sex on the Beach-two fan favorites that pack both flavor and flair. Looking for something a little more cheeky? The Resting Peach Face has both the name and the punch to spark conversation. And for brunch lovers? The Tipsy Tea and Mimosa options add a bubbly twist to midday indulgence.

But don’t let the drink menu distract you entirely-the food lineup holds its own. The Hand-Battered Halloumi and Chips is the kind of comfort dish you won’t want to share, even if you came in with good intentions. There’s also a Sharing Platter for those who prefer tasting a bit of everything (or just can’t decide). Craving something heartier? The Rump Steak is tender and satisfying, while the Lasagne offers layers of cheesy, saucy delight.

If you're after something lighter to pair with that second round of Pina Colada or Espresso Martini, fresh Juices and Watermelon-inspired options are on hand to keep it balanced. And yes, their iced tea selection is surprisingly bold-perfect for those warm afternoons when you want a cooler sip without the alcohol.

What’s also worth noting is the flexibility in service options. You can enjoy your meal outdoors with views of the castle, grab a takeaway for a cozy night in, or opt for delivery if you’d rather keep your slippers on. Dining in? There’s ample seating, and the ambiance hits the sweet spot between social buzz and relaxed comfort.

Slug & Lettuce - Oxford also shines with its live performances, making it more than just a place to eat and drink-it’s an experience. Add in the great beer selection, well-curated wine list, and even a bit of dancing after a couple of cocktails, and you’ve got yourself a dynamic spot that covers all the bases. Whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a full evening, the energy is infectious, and the menu is built to please.

And if spirits are more your speed, the range here is impressive-from crisp ciders to smooth champagnes, and all the essentials in between. Everything’s designed to elevate your evening, whether you're winding down or just getting started.

In short, Slug & Lettuce - Oxford isn’t just another bar or restaurant-it’s a curated celebration of flavor, fun, and Oxford charm, all in one spot.

Bluebell started serving our brunch, shortly followed by Owen, which were both unreal. Super quick, friendly service. Can’t complain! If you’re look for a place to have a bottomless brunch, this is the spot (Owen’s a legend)

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Josh at Slug and Lettuce, and I honestly can’t praise him enough! From the moment we arrived, Josh made us feel so welcome and completely at ease — he has this genuine, friendly energy that instantly put a smile on all our faces. It’s rare these days to find someone who goes above and beyond like Josh did. He made us feel more like guests than customers, and we left feeling so happy and relaxed. If you’re heading to Slug and Lettuce, I truly hope you get to be served by Josh — he’s an absolute credit to the place! Thank you so much, Josh — we’ll definitely be back soon!

We went for bottomless brunch, staff were friendly, good service but the food was poor/average, none of us enjoyed the prosecco. Cocktails were a better option but still not amazing. We ordered mac and cheese x3 for our table of 6 and it was really bad. Nice atmosphere and vibe overall.

Veronica was the most lovely server to our bottomless brunch! She was serving us, while attending to other tables too and providing the best customer service. 10000/10 service! Food could have been a little better, but the service from Veronica made the experience so much better. Give this girl a pay rise!

We did the bottomless brunch at Slug & Lettuce and had such a lovely time. The food and drinks were delicious, and everything came really quickly. A big thank you to our waitress, May - she was so kind and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly and nothing felt like too much trouble. Thank you, May!
